Russian regional authorities reported deaths in the Saratov, Udmurtia and Belgorod regions. Ukraine also said it struck the Saratov oil refinery and the Engels airbase, while a fire broke out at a Wildberries warehouse in Samara.
Russia reports hundreds of interceptions
Russia’s Defense Ministry said air defenses brought down 635 Ukrainian drones overnight. That figure is an official claim and does not establish how many aircraft were launched, how many reached their targets or how the interceptions were independently verified.
Economic pressure is part of the strategy
Ukraine has increasingly targeted energy, logistics and industrial sites that support Russia’s war effort. Wildberries warehouses have also become repeated targets, reflecting an effort to make the costs of the conflict felt beyond military installations.
